Several Alcohol Brands Top Recommend Rankings List in 2022

YouGov has just released its Recommend Rankings for Australia in 2022, and several alcohol brands are in the top ten. Recommend Rankings is used as an indicator of what consumers are recommending in Australia and throughout the world.

This year’s list saw Australian wine company Brown Brothers taking out the second spot on the list, bested only by Toyota. 86.6 percent of customers were said to recommend Brown Brothers to others.

Alcohol brands also took out the third, fourth, seventh, and tenth positions on the list. Jack Daniel’s was third, with an 85 percent recommendation score, Johnnie Walker was fourth with a score of 84.9 percent, Asahi was seventh at 84.3 percent, and Corona placed tenth with 83.4 percent.

CEO of Asia-Pacific for YouGov, Laura Robbie said a number of factors went into the ranking system.

YouGov’s Recommend Rankings leverages data from our proprietary tool, BrandIndex, to identify the brands consumers were most likely to recommend to others in their social circles,” she said.

“This, together with other metrics available in BrandIndex, gives businesses an in-depth understanding of their brand position in their sector, enabling effective benchmarking which can be shared quickly and easily.”

The number of alcohol brands to make it onto this list is exciting news for the liquor industry. It’s particularly exciting that an Australian brand made it so high on the list.

“Brown Brothers’ position as the second most recommended brand in Australia is a testament to one of Australia’s leading family-owned wine companies,” Robbie said.

“The inclusion of other international liquor brands such as Jack Daniel’s, Johnnie Walker, Asahi and Corona reflects Australia’s international tastes and love of a good beverage.”

This list shows that Australian consumers are happy to recommend alcohol brands to others, which bodes well for the future of the industry. With so many top-recommended brands, it’s clear that many Australians enjoy a drink and are happy to share their favourites with friends.
